Repeat Prescriptions
Annagh Medical Centre operates a policy of accepting prescription request by written/online request only using our repeat prescription form which can be submitted via our website or by downloading the paper copy version, to be posted or left into surgery reception. we do not accept telephone/verbal requests for medication at any time. All repeat prescription requests are dealt with on a 48 hours notice basis
This policy is in place to :
• Ensure maximum patient safety
• Ensure that patients are aware of the medications they are requesting
• Reduce the risk of prescribing of unnecessary medications
• Ensure accurate records of patient medication requests are retained
• Minimise human error
All repeat prescription requests are dealt with on a 48 hours notice basis.
Where necessary patients may be requested to attend their GP where their medication/condition needs to be reviewed or discussed in person.
We encourage our patients to closely monitor their prescriptions and medication so that they can be refilled on time. If a patient is in need of an urgent prescription for any reason, they should contact Annagh Medical Centre immediately.
It is the patients responsibility to ensure they manage their prescriptions and to ensure they are renewed at the appropriate time. Please note we aim to provide a three to six monthly prescription at a time for all medications unless monthly restrictions apply.
